Degenkolb Engineers

Engineering A State-of-the-Art Site For Degenkolb Engineers

As one of the leading structural engineering firms in North America, Degenkolb knows that the key to a sound structure is a rock-solid foundation. Like SKAGGS, Degenkolb's exceptional success is built on its team of extraordinary individuals.

With this knowledge as a starting point, SKAGGS polished up Degenkolb's brand identity, brought out a whole lot of personality, and shot a film which demonstrates why Degenkolb is a leader in the field. And since it's all about keeping it real, we weren't about to settle for the usual Hollywood phoniness or corporate blather – instead, Senior Partner CHRIS D. POLAND explains how Degenkolb is an employee-owned firm that stays ahead of the curve. The website itself is fit to burst with news, ideas and information, reflecting a working atmosphere that seems more like... well, a family atmosphere.

Bookmark the BLOG, and visit the profile page to learn about what makes Degenkolb's People tick. (Did you know Senior Partner Jim "SPARKY" Malley learned about electrical safety the hard way? Or that Design Engineer JENNIFER EGGERS is also a clogger?)

MySpace or Facebook? So last year. Bring on Degen-Space-Book! Bet you can't stop at just one profile...

Nilli

NILLI ART
Jóhannes Níels Sigurðsson

There's been quite a buzz recently about the work of Jonina's brother, the painter Nilli. It's true that artistic flair runs in families, but there's a clear difference in approach: fine art is about finding the best way to express yourself, while design is about finding the best way to develop a brand for your client.

So how do you get your name out there if you are a fine artist? This is where the SKAGGS team comes in. We created an identity that reflects Nilli's aesthetic, as well as an online portfolio. Don't worry if Icelandic isn't your first language – the art speaks for itself!

RICK HAYLOR PHOTOGRAPHY — A SKAGGS FOCUS
Rick Haylor

From designer divas and celebrity stylists to snooty editors and glamazon models, fashion photography in New York City is a notoriously cut-throat business. So what sorts the men from the boys? We straightened our shoulders, sucked in our paunch, and struck our best pose to ask RICK HAYLOR about life in the fashion fast lane, what it's like backstage at Mercedez-Benz NYC Fashion Week, and how to pull off the perfect pout.
