Ossur combines electronics, mechanics and human physiology to restore maximum biological function to amputees. They are a leading company of advanced prosthetics with their bionic line of products. Our task was to position these products and to create a brand look and feel which related to Ossur’s corporate brand.
Ossur’s products are so innovative and cutting-edge that we proposed a bionic platform which would contain all products that used Ossur’s bionic technology. We created their identity, brochures, adverts, a website and other collateral for the platform.

Bionic Identity and Logo Development

We approached the design of the Bionics logo bearing in mind the established heritage of Ossur’s corporate brand. Ossur’s own logo incorporates the umlauts (the two little dots above the “ö”) that are included in its name. They appear as two yellow circles against a blue background.
Our “Bionic” logo reflects this, echoing the circles, in this case forming a “b.” The clean, spacious layout keeps the logo from appearing too rigid and speaks to the flexibility that Ossur’s Bionic technology offers to its users.

The Ossur Bionics account ran from 2004 — 2007. The main Headquarters were in Iceland, but during the account’s tenure, Ossur established several offices through setup and acquisition in North America.
