SKAGGS, TOTO and ICFF

Skaggs | New Work, News | Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 @ around lunchtime

Yes, it’s capital letters galore! With the plethora of events happening around town for ICFF ‘08, how do you make an event and a showroom stand head and shoulders above the crowd? For the TOTO Gallery ICFF event at their SoHo showroom, we decided to bring back the infamous water bottles from El Paso (not literally, those ones were recycled) and apply the same principles of visually showing just how much water TOTO’s High Efficiency Toilets can save. Stacking 1,295 gallons’ worth of empty bottles inside the showroom was a challenge, but the result is a stunning demonstration of how small changes can make a big difference. We also created all of the eye catching wall graphics to compliment the showroom products.

“The feedback from the ad shoot was phenomenal and it proved we were on the right track,” says Bradley. “Visualizing the massive quantities of water that can be saved using TOTO products really resonated with people. For the TOTO Gallery, we decided to pursue this concept but on a smaller scale. The results are unique and interesting.”

Woot!!

Sam | Skaggs, News | Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 @ just before lunchtime

For my 21st birthday gift my mum asked me what I wanted and the first thing I said was a trip to New Yawk City! I’m not quite sure why, but 2 weeks later I was on my way. Being the eager beaver that I was…I took my portfolio and researched companies whose work I liked and the rest (including Jonina asking what I was selling, when I called to find out if I could intern) is history!
I’ve been at SKAGGS officially for almost 5 years and during that time, I’ve seen and learnt a lot. I’m absolutely ecstatic to be an Associate and a larger part of SKAGGS as a company, having been witness to our extraordinary growth from 4 of us in a back room, to a kick ass team of 6 in TriBeCa.

Like Oscar speeches should be - I’m going to try and keep this short and sweet, but just wanted this opportunity to first and foremost thank:
Bradley and Jonina for giving me the opportunity to “step up” and shed my “Grasshoppper” wings AND for being two of the best bosses and now fellow Associates I have ever worked for/with. Joe and Elspeth for being absolute Design Super Stars ‚Äî I really couldn’t have ever asked for more amazingly funny, cool and inspirational creative comrades (plus they put up with my crazy moments). To all of the clients I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with - THANK YOU for allowing me to think outside the box!

A huge THANK YOU to my family (Mum, Dad and Aaron), to Iain, Sarah, Siobhan, Jenna, my many friends and loved ones (you all know who you are), my BA Graphic Design tutor - Chris Morris, my ND Graphic Design tutor - Clinton Cahill and in no particular order… the Internet, the pile of things on my desk - what I’d do without you, I really don’t know, the magazine store on Spring and Lafeyette, Edwards (best after work spot ever), Neighborhood (best coffee bagel and cc that fuels my creativity), crazy Canal Street bootleg people…you make dreary days shine.

Bradley Skaggs is the original International Man of Mystery.

Whether it’s zooming across America or flying to Europe and beyond, his ability to travel across time zones and still do business is positively admirable. He and Jonina were featured in Entrepreneur’s “Young Millionaires” issue, in November 2005 and now he’s back in the new issue of Entrepreneur (on stands now) giving up SKAGGS’ top secrets on keeping data safe. The article can be read here and if you’ve got any questions on international mystery or data for that matter, Bradley can be reached here.
